NaNoWriMo Fail

November was kind of a screwed-up month for me. From people trying to steal cars to not being able to go home for Thanksgiving, it’s been a mess. However, the dust is starting to settle and things are moving forward yet again.

Now, it’s up to me to keep up the momentum throughout the rest of the month.

NaNoWriMo 2022 Fail

Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to get anywhere near the 50,000 words needed for NaNoWriMo this year. I’ve had a perfect storm of unfortunate events crop up throughout the entire month of November that needed my attention more.

That doesn’t mean I’m not going to finish rewriting VII. In fact, I’m still pretty excited about doing so. It just means it’ll take a bit longer than anticipated. I did get to work on a bit of the story this week, so, I suppose that is a step in the right direction.

I’m still planning on finishing the tale at about 60,000 words in total. But as always, I’ll write until the story is finished regardless of length.

Sometimes, life happens. And when it does, you can’t get overly frustrated with yourself for not being able to accomplish what you set out to do. Some situations are merely outside of your control.

The best thing to do is deal with those circumstances and then try the next hand. In this case, I quite like the cards I’ve been dealt and feel confident I’ll finish VII soon.

On Track to Break 2021’s Word Count Total

This week, I have been pushing each day to make sure I surpass last year’s word count totals. Thanks to my spreadsheet, I have an estimation as to how many words I need to write Monday through Friday in order to beat that record.

The best part is that any writing I do on the weekends simply pushes that number even higher.

I wanted to break last year’s word count record before December 13th, but that’s not feasible. I’d have to write more than 6600 words per day. Given what I do for a living, that’s just not possible.

The reason why I wanted it done before the 13th is because that’s WriterSanctuary’s 10-year anniversary. It would have been nice to do something spectacular.

Working on Books This Weekend

I decided that since I really didn’t get a lot of time to work on the two books this week that I’ll do some writing this weekend. I’ll essentially be home alone for most of it, which means very few distractions.

Well, aside from those that I impose on myself.

Still, if I want to publish Kingmaker next month, or anytime in the near future, I need to get on it. Not to mention finishing up VII so I can start a new project.

To be honest, though, I’m looking forward to having some “me” time with my books. I’ll pour myself a nice glass of Sambuca and work on making some magic. At least until I get too liquored up.

Still No Video Time

I’m still trying to work on a good flow of my day. But with focusing so intently on writing, I simply don’t have enough hours available to work on video content.

This week, it was mostly prioritizing the blogs and fixing a few broken things here and there.

I’m going to try to get as much done on Saturday as I can to get me caught up and a bit ahead of schedule. This should give me adequate time to work on videos this coming week.

That is until I have to put out another fire or fix another issue.

I would make a few Shorts on YouTube, but I either forget or think the idea for the video is dumb. Mostly, it’s because I forget, though.

I would never be able to keep a TikTok account going.

Starting December On Solid Ground…ish

Aside from not having a video today, I’ve actually started December pretty well – from the perspective of writing. The idea is to just keep the momentum going until I break a few personal records.

After today, I’ll be well on my way to writing more words in 2022 than I did in 2021. Considering how the first half of the year went, though, it’s kind of surprising.

I had a lot of things to work out between January and September.

In any case, everything looks to be smooth sailing for the rest of the year. I am quite motivated to finish a few writing projects and set the pace for January.

How Did Your Week Go?

As chaotic as my life is most of the time, I haven’t really done all that bad for myself. I have an awesome job, some great clients, and am seeing some progress in the blogs.

I’m looking forward to what I can accomplish this weekend and next week. One of my goals is to finish rewriting Lust for VII on Wattpad. Let’s see if I can make it happen.

What kind of things did you accomplish this week?
