On October 20th, I’ll be at D3 Arts for the Read Between the Stars book fair. The free event starts at noon and ends at 4:00 pm that Sunday. So, if you’re in the Lakewood area and want to meet some local authors, come and say hello!
This is my first author-related event, and I’m looking forward to meeting readers and authors alike.
If I can find two more to attend in the next few months, I can chalk author events as completing one of my goals for 2024. Things are definitely unfolding nicely throughout the last half of the year.
What Will I Bring to Read Between the Stars?
At this particular book fair, I’ll bring copies of my dark fantasy, Kingmaker. As it is a sci-fi & fantasy event, it’s the only one I have published at the moment.
I would love to bring along Fury, the second book to Kingmaker, but I haven’t quite finished writing the first draft yet. So, Fury won’t be out for a while. And I doubt I can have the entire thing completed and printed in three months.
This is especially true considering how long it takes Amazon to send author copies.
I might bring my remaining copies of A Freelancer’s Tale, but I’m not expecting to unload those.
Besides, Shadows of Atlantic City isn’t quite fitting with the fair’s niche as it’s a dark western. Not to mention that I don’t know if it’ll be published by the end of October.
At the rate things are going, though, Shadows should be out sometime before Halloween.
I’m also planning on decorating my table a bit – especially since it’s Halloween and I’m promoting Kingmaker. I think it’s a pretty good seasonal book in this case. What’s not to like about fighting against the dead?
I would love to sell at least four copies of Kingmaker. That should break even for the table space. However, my ultimate goal is to simply get my name out there in the public and meet some great people.
I am more driven by interaction and engagement than profits. It’s all about the experiences over riches.
Let’s Have a Great Weekend on the 20th!
If you need something to do on Sunday, October 20th, and are in the Lakewood, Colorado area, feel free to come to D3 Arts. Read Between the Stars has free admission and you get to meet several authors such as myself.
Also, keep in mind that D3 Arts is a sober space. That means it’s free of smoking and drinking. Just wanted to put that out there for my Coloradans who like to…imbibe on occasion.
Hope to see you there!
