Twenty years after the Powhatan sank in 1854, bodies began washing ashore along the New Jersey coast near the newly developed Atlantic City. The bodies were mutilated to the point of prompting an investigation by an underground organization that specializes in stopping monsters of myth and legend.

Jack Spencer and his assistant were sent to discover the cause of the bodies as well as investigate the disappearance of one of their own. What the two had found was darker than they had imagined, and much older than the creatures they had fought in the past. Joined by an unexpected ally, the trio race against time to stop an ancient foe before it kills again.
